FIFA 22 Beta: 10 Hands-On First Impressions

9. Volta Feels A Little Tighter

Those meatier physics make Volta's quicker style of footy a much more satisfying experience. One word of warning though: Volta was designed to be played on harder difficulty settings with walls the ball can bounce off of. Do that, and you'll find a lot of 3/4/5-a-side fun here.

Customisation is there too, obviously.

This is kinda hard to explain, but teams no longer feel like they're connected by a rod like you'd see in table football; they're independent, weighty human beings who move and think independently (at least in this Beta). The impact that has on Volta is immeasurable.

Defenders don't stick to their positions as rigidly, and you could find yourself mopping up attacking threats using your most attacking player. That's the rush these mini-games provide. They should feel totally different from the main 11-a-side modes, and the good news is that they do.

Everything is a little tighter, which makes pulling off skill moves really rewarding.
