Final Fantasy 7 Remake: 10 Story Changes That Have Already Happened
6. A New Enemy
One of the most intriguing changes that Square has shown off so far is the introduction of a brand-new character; Roche. Here's how Square-Enix describes the new kid in town.
This 3-C SOLDIER turned rebel is also known as Speed Demon.
He loves bikes, speed and anyone who can give him a challenge. His comrades, however, find him annoying - he constantly squeals his rear tire and makes them choke on fumes of burnt rubber.
He appears to be chasing the party on their adventure through the first part, cornering them and asking for a one-on-one match with Cloud. Roche seems to be intended to add a bit of fun to the proceedings, flashing a devil may care outlook, a sharp contrast to the fatalistic tone of FF7.
The character's origins are still a mystery, but it's apparent that he has some kind of connection with Cloud. Being a member of SOLDIER, it's possible that Roche will also be involved in the Nibelheim flashback sequence.
Though the Nibelheim flashback doesn't happen until the party leaves Midgar in the original game, Roche's involvement and other bits of evidence in the trailers seem to hint that we may get that iconic scene in the opening salvo of the FF7 remake.
