Many Final Fantasy villains have tried to either destroy or take over the world, Kefka, one of the most disturbing individuals to ever be seen on a video game, succeeds in doing both, tearing the world asunder and leaving the fate of nearly every major character in the balance, as the scene cuts to a dark and desolate world, where Celes and Cid contemplate the possibility that they are the only people left alive.
