Final Fantasy VII Remake: 10 Huge Things That Could Go Terribly Wrong

5. Updating The Script

Final Fantasy VII came out during a time when JRPGs were still very much a niche genre, particularly in the UK. Because of this, the translation job wasn't exactly the best it could be. In fact, it completely sucked at times. Later games in the series got a much better treatment simply because of the success that number 7 achieved, so it is only right that Square go back over the previous script with a fine-toothed comb and get rid of the more glaring errors while also tightening up some of the dialogue. Seeing as it has been confirmed that the game is going to include new story elements it is pretty much a given that this is going to happen, but it is still extremely important. Updating the script without losing what made the game connect with so many players is extremely important. They could even throw in the odd little reference back to some of the previous dialogue. After all, as awful as it was, the "This guy are sick" line is still one of the most hilariously memorable moments of the early parts of the game. It could be shoehorned in somewhere to please the fans while the rest of the script is touched up to meet modern standards.
