Final Fantasy VII Remake: 10 Things Everybody Missed In The New Trailer
5. The Music Isn't As New As You Think
And before you come screaming in with "Uh, we know, it's from 1997", what I mean is - it wasn't even a remastering of the original score, newly created for the trailer. Instead, the track used 'Bombing Run' from composer Nobuo Uematsu's 2007 album, Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy, where he re-scored a huge amount of the original music with a full orchestra backing him up. The harsh reality of this remake is that the entire project came together very fast - it's rumoured the deal to produce it was only inked the week before E3 - leading to certain 'corners' being cut like this, to get some appropriately new-sounding music, without splashing out on a whole new soundtrack. At least, not yet anyway.
