Final Fantasy - Which Game is The Best?

9. Final Fantasy V

FFV's main claim to fame is the job system that it took from FFIII and made better. For the most part, its story was decent, but the gameplay was its shining quality. The job system introduced allowed players more control over their characters. It even allowed some abilities to be used in more than one job class. The mix and matching that this allowed was great fun. FFV was also the second Final Fantasy game to use the ATB system. In this game however, the ATB Bar was introduced so that the player could see which characters' turn would be next in battle. This helped significantly, allowing players more control over their choices in battle. The ATB Bar has been used in a majority of the subsequent games in the series. The main story is pretty decent overall, following on from previous entries by building a more passable plot with decent characters. The main story even has some emotional moments. The villain, ExDeath, is also one of the more memorable villains in the FF series. This was also the first game Gilgamesh appeared in. Accompanied by a great battle theme, this was one of the more memorable Gilgamesh appearances.
