Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns: 6 Things We Learned From The Demo

1. Square-Enix Decided Not To Demo An Open World Segment

Final Fantasy 13 was notoriously shredded to kingdom come for not having a world map and true side content, and they made matters worse by actually stating that creating towns in HD was too time consuming. However, if there€™s one aspect of development Square-Enix is getting right, it€™s taking core fanbase's feedback into consideration, implementing it, and gradually improving the quality of the Final Fantasy 13 saga. In other words, they stopped with the laziness and created a true RPG universe. Square-Enix actually stressed this emphatically too by creating a rather lengthy demo for 13-2 that fully showcased their delivery on the promise of towns, open ended areas, and proper side quests. The absence of something like this in a demo for Lightning Returns is a bit startling, but further investigation reveals that there is an open world with tons of additional content. One just has to wonder if the extreme linearity of the demo will give some gamers the wrong impression. Are you interested in playing Lightning Returns?
