Final Fantasy XIV Review: 10 Ways It Rules

6. Versatility

Final Fantasy Xiv D One of the more impressive facets of A Realm Reborn is its class system, which is wholly original and extremely intuitive. It is a player's choice of weapon that essentially defines their class, and so simply swapping weapons will allow you to instantaneously change class. The classes are divided into War (combat), Magic (self-explanatory), Hand (crafting) and Land (gathering resources), and from here, players will also be able to select a "dominant" Job to specialise in up to level 30, and then a secondary one up to level 15. This creates an interesting trade-off, but also one which can be changed up on the fly; there aren't the arbitrary restrictions here that stymie so many MMOs. The fact that you are given so many different classes and jobs to level ensures that the game has an immense level of freedom and replay value, while feeling like absolutely no other MMO on the market.
