It’s a good idea to look into customising your controls in the Settings menu (found under the Misc tab). 'Smart End' will automatically end your turn once you are out of moves, which there’s not much point disabling.

However, it might be worth considering switching both the 'Confirm Action' and 'Confirm Move' settings from 'Auto' to 'Tap'. By default, you perform moves and attacks simply by dragging the Hero where you want them and releasing your finger - however, this can lead to some accidental moves.

By switching to the Tap configuration, you have to tap on the target square or unit after making your order to confirm it. This means you can easily avoid accidentally giving out instructions. It also makes it a little easier to hover over an enemy and then take a moment to consider the combat preview at the top of the screen before deciding whether to proceed with your intended course of action or cancelling it.

You can also turn off Combat and Support Animations in the Settings menu (this is particularly helpful if you want to get through encounters a little quicker, though the animations can be rather fun to watch at first).
