Fire Emblem Heroes Guide: 20 Crucial Tips & Tricks You Need To Know
5. Don’t Fear The Arena Duels
Arena Duels see you taking on the teams of other players, with the chance to earn large numbers of Hero Feathers (a useful upgrade item) if you do well. However, you won’t actually be playing directly against other players - instead, you’ll face off against an AI-controlled version of their current squad. There are ranks for Attacking and Defending, though you only have direct control over the attacking rank.
When you choose to spend a Dueling Sword to enter the Arena, you’ll have the option of either a Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced duel.
Typically, Beginner duels will pit you against a team slightly below your team’s level; Intermediate duels will match you against a similarly-levelled opponent; whilst Advanced duels will challenge you with a slightly higher level enemy squad.
You get additional bonus points for every one of the listed 'Bonus Heroes' you include in your team, so bear that in mind if you’re trying to maximise your rewards. It’s also worth noting that you get a bonus for chaining up to seven consecutive wins: so, while it might be tempting to opt for the higher difficulty match-ups with bigger rewards, you may be better off going up against slightly easier opponents to guarantee that chain bonus.
