We are getting to that time of year again when everybody is looking forward to the new football season and Football Manager is becoming outdated because of transfers, promotions, relegations and for the fact that it has been out for quite a while. Around about this time we start to stop playing last year's game and start to scower the net for info on the next release which usually hits around November time but no release date has officially been set. As details on Football Manager 2013 are scarce to date, we can only really discuss what we want to see. With that in mind, here is a list of what potential improvements we would love to see...

1. Press Conferences

Now, I know most of us Football Manager games send our assistant to every single press conference. They are repetitive and boring, if they are made more complex and interesting with more consequences then maybe more of us would attend them. To combat this, Sports Interactive should make them an integral and critical part of the game. Currently, it doesn't really matter if you have a good or bad press conference because it doesn't really affect the morale of the team or the support of the fans. Hyping up your new £35 million signing who has low confidence level stats might not be the best way to go out of the blocks... but then for high confidence players who thrive on attention and being the star of a club, might produce better results. Man management of press conferences should become a mainstay of the game, just like it is in real life. Other managers also need to have more things to say, I am sick of other managers saying they are not a fan of me or they don't like the way I play and vice-versa. They need more things to say because it is constantly the same! Press conferences could also be used in a different way as they have done in the past. They could include having your Chairman sat next to you adding comments or even a couple of your players if it is before an important match. I also think that the board could reward you or punish you depending on how well you perform in them. They can also be used to give you a chance to explain a strange substitution or tactic or even an attack on a referee. I know some of these are already in the game but they need more depth.
