Football Manager 2014: 9 Issues It Really Should Fix

2. The Crashes

Angry Computer We need to talk about the crashes, and you all know what I mean by this. Picture the scene €“ you started the game eight seasons ago as a Conference club, and through blood, sweat, tears, a failed relationship and no small amount of Red Bull, you've worked your way into the Champions League. Not only that, but your meteoric rise and reliance on Brazilian wonderkids has seen you march all the way to the final. You take to the pitch against your illustrious rivals, and you manage to grind out the tensest win of your career, eventually taking the spoils with a cracking fourty-yard lob from an over-the-hill Theo Walcott. You're elated, euphoric, ecstatic, and all other things under the sun. But when you hit space, the game crashes and reverts to Windows, leaving you gutted. The sad thing is that this isn't a one-off occurrence. It happens far too often for a game which prides itself on the experience it offers. Unfortunately, the fact that no two games are ever the same comes back to bite you here €“ for all your tweaking and intricate battle-of-wits first time round, all that sense of achievement is lost thanks to this really irritating problem. If they can finally figure out a way to drop this persistent thorn-in-the-side, I dare say they'll have even more fanatic players, liberated from the concern that their efforts might be voided at any moment.
