Football Manager 2014 Tips: 10 Ways To Guarantee World Domination

9. Load Up More Nations

Flags While on the subject of scouting, I thought I'd mention this. Now, you could argue this is the preserve of those with ultra-powerful computers who wish to start at higher-stature clubs, but I'd say you were wrong. In fact, I'd go as far as to argue that a game which doesn't load up most of Europe along with a good chunk of South America, North/Central America, Africa and the the Asian regions is missing out on a good chunk of the FM experience. Please understand, I'm not enforcing PC performance apartheid €“ my computer's so old you practically have to chuck coal into it to make it run. However, I still load up these divisions because pulling in diverse global talent is part of the fun, especially when you're looking to break into the Champions League and you can't outbid the European powerhouses for the orthodox talent. These are the places an extensive scouting network is made for €“ hire in as many good quality people as possible and trawl the divisions for potential stars. If you don't load these places, you rob yourself of the chance to discover the next North African wonderkid or South American prodigy, and even if you don't find something so amazing, you can always settle for the B+ stars that can really transform a season. After all, everyone could do with a Nobby Solano equivalent.
