Chairmen and owners are increasingly coming to the fore in world football, far different from a time when they would supply the cash, and let the manager handle the football, transfers and direction of the club. So fans should be able to make the step up to chairman, whether that be an option when a user retires from football, or an entirely separate game mode for gamers to sink their teeth into. Stadiums could be designed and upgraded to customised specifications, sponsorships and contracts could be chosen, budgets and ticket prices could be set, while marketing and promotional offers could be utilised to maximum effect. Users could choose when to hire and fire their managers, and earn a reputation accordingly, while they could also look to sell up and invest higher up the football ladder. It would be like a whole new game, but still based on a similar system to the one that has provided Football Manager with a solid foundation for years, and that will continue to be adored by fans around the world.
