Sports Interactive brought the Touch edition of Football Manager 2018 to Nintendo Switch as an experiment, and it was clearly a successful one because this season's instalment is also coming to the hybrid console next month.

To clarify, it's the scaled-down Touch version of FM19 that Switch owners are getting - essentially the same game that will arrive on compatible iOS and Android tablets, as well as PCs to serve as a lighter alternative to the full-fat Football Manager.

The Switch is, in many ways, the ideal platform for FM Touch, offering the right interface and allowing you to play whether you're at home or away, so it's good to see that the 2018 instalment shifted enough copies to make another release viable.

FM18 hit the Nintendo system long after its PC counterpart, but this time, Switch owners won't have to wait to get their hands on Football Manager 2019 - it will be released on the same day as the PC and mobile versions: 2nd November.
