Football Manager 2019: 10 New Features To Be Excited About
1. Manager Man's Retirement
Okay, so this isn't a game-changing feature to get hyped about, but it's worth mentioning because it represents the end of an era for Football Manager.
The game's cover star for the last 14 years, 'Manager Man', has been benched. FM19's packshot features a POV image of a team stepping out onto the field, complete with a shiny new 'Football Manager' logo overhead. The message is clear: Sports Interactive is serious about refreshing and revitalising this time-tested simulation.
But fans of 'Manager Man' shouldn't despair. He hasn't followed Sir Alex Ferguson into retirement just yet. According to SI head Miles Jacobson, the legendary gaffer is on a hiatus and could well be back with a bang in the future. He told Eurogamer...
"Fans of Manager Man shouldn't be worried though. He's currently sitting on a beach in Santorini, sipping on a delicious cocktail, deciding what his next career move will be. He's likely waiting til Xmas to get a new job - the bonuses for keeping clubs up for experienced managers will likely tempt him back in."
Football Manager 2019 will be released for PC on 2nd November, the same date that the latest version of FM Touch hits the back of the net on iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch. Are you looking forward to it? Let us know in the comments below!
