Club: Athletic Bilbao B

Nationality: Spanish

Price: £18 million

A player that was a favourite of many in last year’s iteration of Sports Interactive’s Football Management sim, Nico Serrano is going to likely be one more for the future rather than a player who can be relied upon at the start of the game. However, at only 18 years old the young Spanish winger has plenty of time to develop to his maximum potential, which will be somewhere in the 150 to 180 range depending on what version of the player the game gives you at the beginning of your save.

That’s not to say that the youngster doesn’t have some nice attributes at the beginning of the game as he boasts some 15s in Crossing and Balance to compliment some solid 14s in Long Shots, Off The Ball and Natural Fitness. Serrano is a player that can be brought in to develop behind an experienced right winger or sent out on loan to further his skills with a view to holding down the right side of your attack in the future.

In order to get him at the start of your game you will need to pony up £18 million, however that will seem like a bargain after a few years of development. The Spanish U19 international also has a Release Clause of £25.5 million so if you prefer you can take your chances and wait a few years for him to develop before activating his release clause, providing he doesn’t sign a new contract with Athletic Bilbao in the meantime.
