For Honor: 10 Gameplay Features Ubisoft Didn't Tell You About
1. It's Much More Than Just A Dynasty Warriors Clone
The beta has answered a lot of gameplay questions about For Honor,
including putting to rest the rumours that it was going to be a
Western Dynasty Warriors. As fun as Dynasty Warriors can be, combat
can feel too effortless. For Honor ensures each fight feels like life
or death, and victory – while it might be hard work – feels
extremely satisfying.
There is still the question of replayability and the lifespan of the game, especially considering that the length and quality of the single player campaign is still unknown. Ubisoft also estimated it only takes about 8 -12 hours to Prestige (fully level) a hero – although with 12 heroes to Prestige, that's over 100 hours of gameplay.
So far, multiplayer looks challenging and fun in a genre where there is little else like it at the moment – especially on consoles. Whether it has the draw to keep us coming back for more after mastering the first one or two heroes remains to be seen, but this is a good start!
