Fortnite 2 Season 3 - 10 Tweaks It NEEDS To Stay On Top

Not to be confused with bots, non-player characters (or NPCs) have a growing influence in Fortnite’s battle royale matches. Operating outside of the main player lobby, whose aim it is to clinch victory, these AI characters are more skilled and powerful than bots and their presence adds extra depth to the game. However, while they aren’t there to compete, if you’re not careful, they’ll bring about a premature end to your campaign.

Generally NPCs do successfully contribute to the evolution of the game. However, as time passes, their presence can feel unnecessary and even hinder your enjoyment. The zombie-esc ‘Cube Monsters’ are testament to this but let’s take a look at the current bunch:

A host of agency bosses, wielding powerful mythic weapons, surrounded by squadrons of guards. Such is their strength and number, these NPCs often pose more of a risk to your game than human players, particularly when you're trapped between the two. The fact that many players admit to being more wary of the NPCs than their fellow human players doesn’t quite sit right. Moving forward, then, while NPCs are a great addition, tempering their numbers, strength and time in-game might be a wise route to follow.
