Fortnite Chapter 2: 8 Biggest New Changes
5. Stealth And 'Splosions
A number of other new mechanics have also found their way into Chapter 2 to add new tactical possibilities to your arsenal.
Chief among these is the more dynamic environment, with a number of new interactive objects. Explosive barrels and canisters now litter the map, offering ways to set off an easy explosive trap on passing enemies or to damage structures without having to rely on rocket launchers.
If you want to take a sneakier route to Victory Royale, there are the new hiding places - hold square next to things like dumpsters or haystacks and you'll dive inside, completely obscured from enemy view.
This is ideal for if you're low on health and avoiding a gunfight, or if you want to wait to ambush passing players. You do occasionally make noises and wobble the object you're hiding inside though, so be mindful not to stay too long or you could end up getting caught out.
Finally, there are the new Workbenches, where you can upgrade weapons in your inventory using materials you've collected, offering a reliable new way of collecting high-rarity weapons.
