Gamescom 2016: Harley Quinn & Deadshot Confirmed For Injustice 2

We hope you're ready to set Bud and Lou on Harleen's opponents...

Harley Quinn Injustice 2
NetherRealm

NetherRealm's relationship with Warner Bros. is the partnership that just keeps on giving, and this latest trailer for Injustice 2 can only be confirmation of that fact.

While it may be clear that anything Suicide Squad related could be considered damaged goods right about now, NetherRealm are injecting their sequel to 2013's surprise hit with a healthy dose of Harley and Deadshot - the two main leads from Warner's latest critical flop. If anything's at all clear however, it's that the banal mediocrity of the studio's August release is nowhere to be found here.

I mean come on, just look at how pretty this all is.

My absolute favourite part from this trailer has to be the presence of Bud and Lou - Harley's ever faithful pet Hyenas. The last time we saw them in the medium they had been stuffed and put on display in Penguin's Arkham City museum, so to see them alive and chomping at the bit to feast on Atrocitius is pretty fabulous to say the least.

Deadshot also looks to be replacing Deathstroke this time around, taking an immense arsenal to his foes with a wide array of pistols and rifles, as well as his trademark wrist cannons. Slade Wilson, eat your heart out.

Injustice 2 is promising a much larger roster this time around, so be sure to be on the lookout for further reveals in the coming months.

Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
