Atreus can be useful in the battles with Valkyries in several ways, especially if the Talon bow is upgraded to the max level. From his armour to his runic summons, Atreus has many tricks up the sleeve that makes him live up to the name his mother gave him.

Firstly, Atreus should have his lightning arrows equipped as they provide stun damage and can give the player crucial seconds to retreat. Secondly, when the Valkyrie flies up into the air to unleash a devastating light ring attack or shroud the arena in a grey fog, Atreus can interrupt her attack with a well-timed arrow.

If Atreus has the Legendary Runic Vestment equipped, he can drop glowing green orbs throughout the fight which can give a much-needed boost to Kratos's health. Finally, Atreus can summon any number of runic animals to aid the father-son team in battle. The Wrath of the Wolf runic summon will call up to three wolves, to attack and stun the Valkyries. Also, if Atreus has Lightening arrows, then the wolves will cause some shock damage too.
