Ragnarok is coming...

As the final stinger to tonight's PS5 showcase, Sony officially revealed the sequel to 2018's critically acclaimed God of War, confirming the subtitle "Ragnarok".

It was very much a teaser, showing nothing other than a logo, but the console maker did reveal a 2021 release date. Though a sequel was always a sure bet, it coming this quickly and being revealed this early is a surprise, but it will no doubt give PS5 players something major to look forward to in the coming year.

Given the end of the original game and the Ragnarok teaser, it's likely the sequel will see Kratos and Atreus going up against Thor, the God of Thunder, to ward off the end of the world.

Expect to hear more soon.
