8. Set In England (London)

Whilst I'd personally love a Newcastle-themed GTA (the home of WhatCulture) the most likely candidate comes from London.

And why? Because until GTA V went back to San Andreas, there was a subtle pattern emerging in terms of Rockstar's release process.

See, in the original GTA, we had Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas, albeit in their 2D incarnations. Then the leap to 3D on the PS2, and again, those three places saw the upgraded treatment. However, there was another 2D location left behind from a single spin-off - London.

'Grand Theft Auto: London, 1969' remains the only GTA game to exist outside the 'established' locations that has yet to be upgraded to modern hardware. As GTA IV saw Rockstar rebuild Liberty City yet again and GTA V tackled San Andreas, we're long overdue a (re)visit to The Big Smoke.
