GTA Vice City is oft considered to be the best entry in the franchise, so fans should be excited to hear that the setting could be mounting a return in GTA VI.
Rockstar's analogue for Miami, Florida worked so well as a setting because it lived and breathed the eighties. Taking inspiration from Scarface and Miami Vice, the sixth GTA exuded atmosphere on every level, with few, if any, future GTA settings coming close to it in terms of charm or detail.
As with Los Santos making the transition to the seventh gen in GTA V, it looks as though Vice City is set for a return in the next Grand Theft Auto. One can only hope that the change in tech will facilitate a bigger world, but still, the novelty of returning to the Magic City will likely prove too great for fans to pass up.

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir.
