GTA 6: 8 Current Gaming Trends Rockstar Must AVOID

7. That Neon Pink/Green Colour Palette

Seen everywhere from Black Ops 4's newest skins to Fortnite, Apex Legends to Far Cry: New Dawn, there's something of an 80s renaissance going on at the moment with various media properties like Stranger Things, Ready Player One or the general popularity of synthwave music (the latter being phenomenal, by the way), but gaming's attempt to cash-in aesthetically just looks putrid.

Looking like the kind of thing a boardroom of executives sign off on as "what the kids are into", nothing reduces a game's visual identity to phoned in, spreadsheet-mandated toss quite like one of these colour schemes.

Funnily enough though, all signs point to GTA 6 being Rockstar's return to Vice City - the one place where neon art direction can be done right, but in a way that feels natural to the setting. Here's hoping they don't mess it up, especially where the online component is concerned.
