GTA 6: 8 Things It Must Learn From Red Dead Redemption 2

5. Focus On One Protagonist

GTA 6 Red Dead

Seeing as GTA 5 featured three protagonists as opposed to the usual one, many speculated that this would be the case for RDR2, and maybe even every Rockstar game going forward. Throwing all that speculation out the window though, it would indeed just be the one protagonist for Red Dead, and that needs to be the case when it comes to GTA 6 too.

While three main characters to play as is a different approach to this style of game, fans will get more out of only having one protagonist to use. Take Arthur Morgan for example - we were with him the entire time throughout his storied adventure, while GTA 5 prevented fans from gaining the same sort of connection with either Michael, Trevor, and Franklin as we constantly had to switch through them in order to progress with the game.

No questions asked, having the three protagonists let us try something not often done with video games, and you can't say it never worked because it most certainly did.

While there wouldn't really be any objections to having this feature repeated in the next GTA game, having just the one allows players to obtain a deeper bond with the person they're playing as.
