GTA Online: 10 Reasons Why It's The Perfect Time To Revisit San Andreas

5. Less Grief

One of the biggest problems with an open-ended online game like GTA was its griefers. With a lack of any real direction some people just couldn't find anything better to do than shoot you dead five times in a row, blow up your car and splatter you over their windscreens until you finally quit out. Back in the day players had to constantly bring up their mini-maps to dart around potential hostiles, but the game is a little more chilled now; most players just ignore you unless you have a bounty or you're chasing the same crate drop. The would-be griefers are largely absent now, either growing bored of the game or ending up in the 'Dunce Lobbies' Rockstar created for Bad Sports. You'll get the odd annoyance here and there but since Passive Mode is now free (as it should have always been) they're easy enough to ignore. In fact just the other night I was browsing some dingy clothes shop in Blaine County when a would-be troll trotted right up to the window with his assault rifle. He fired away into nothing but wall until his ammo was empty, seemingly baffled by the idea that I might be using Passive Mode. As he switched to the shotgun I strolled out into the open, my new shades gleaming with both my virtual middle fingers stuck right up in his face. Then I got in my car and ran him over. That's right, GTA Online is unkind to trolls.
