GTA: Ranking The Soundtracks

1. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t0v3pEOiDo The excitement for Vice City was insane, as Rockstar was able to create desire to play the game that was only eclipsed by GTA V. It had it all; the authentic 1980's vibe that reeked of Miami Vice, a character voiced by Ray Liotta and promises of an even bigger game world than GTA 3. The final piece of that puzzle is the soundtrack, which isn't just the greatest GTA soundtrack of all time - instead it's easily one of the best soundtracks of all time, and maybe even a strong contender for the best game soundtrack ever. We're talking about Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, Toto, Mr. Mister, Hall & Oates and INXS, not to mention the dozens of others. It's a staggering amount of star power, placing you right in the middle of the Scarface-inspired tale of Tommy Vercetti. If GTA 3 was the Godfather, then Vice City is absolutely a Scarface riff. GTA 3 even included a precursor to this 80's love affair with the Flashback FM station, which does return in this instalment, featuring returning DJ Toni and a few hits from Laura Branigan and Lionel Richie. Vice City reigns supreme as the best GTA soundtrack because it lives up to the identity of the game more than any other. The prime selection of tracks and 80's music icons really makes you feel like you've just stepped back in time to 1986, and it remains Rockstar's finest hour to date. And now it's your turn. What's your favourite GTA soundtrack? Sound off in the comments and let's hear which one got your heart pumping.
