8. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7I40v5x4Js Despite the limitations of handheld gaming, Rockstar Leeds was able to make an adequate GTA experience for the Nintendo DS and PSP. It didn't quite have the same polish of its console brethren, but Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was a nice way to take your rampages with you. One of the more interesting things about the way Chinatown Wars presented its soundtrack was through naming stations after specific bands or groups, and even having some stations only play one artist. Chinatown Wars has a very unique flavour to its soundtrack, which does accompany the mini display of violence quite well. The music is smaller and more focused, with a strong emphasis on pure beats that reflect on the game perfectly. You can really feel your heart starting to beat when Deadmau5 starts thumping over your ongoing crime spree, or when the thrashing metal from Anvil is swirling in your head. It creates a perfect storm of music and violence. Perhaps the only thing it lacked was Rockstar's trademark use of satirical commercials and hosts, which was part of what made the radio so much fun to have on. Despite these limitations, Chinatown Wars still has an excellent soundtrack.
