GTA Trilogy Remake Trailer: 10 Details You Missed
5. Clothing Textures & 40GB's Worth Of Upgrades
As if you needed more confirmation that this was a proper, hand-crafted upgrade, take a look at the game's file size, vs that of the originals.
Basically, we're talking 45GB in total for all three new games, versus 1GB, 1.5GB and 4.8GB for GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas respectively. That is a BIG leap up, and it makes you wonder what 40GB's worth of enhancements to PS2 originals will look and feel like.
Now, a lot of the space will be carryover from Rockstar's original engine to that of Unreal 4, where these new versions were built. The rest is likely filled with sheer texture quality and detail for the world overall, as clothing textures can be seen across the trailer.
Most noticeable in the Vice City portions of the trailer, both Tommy Vercetti and Ken Roseberg's suits now have stitching patterns, as do the flannel shirts of the Grove Street gang members and CJ's white tank top.
