8. Lamar
We meet Lamar mere minutes into GTA V, and he quickly establishes himself as not just one of the best characters in the game, but one of the best in the GTA franchise entirely. His back-and-forth, rat-a-tat banter with Franklin is uproariously hilarious, instantly reminiscent of the relationship between Ice Cube and Chris Tucker in the movie Friday, if on its own terms also utterly engaging. Whether he's complaining about Franklin being the Employee of the Month over him, or is simply playing up fiercely to the gangster stereotype, there's not an unfunny thing that comes out of his mouth. In fact, I wish we could character switch to Lamar. Presuming he doesn't die in the game's events, hopefully some DLC might allow us to cruise around as this wise-cracking OG for a while.
