2. Phones and Technology
As I mentioned before the phone played a major role in GTA IV and was a source of annoyance. GTA IV gave you your phone as the main source of information, E-mails could only be replied to positively or negatively, and past GTA's had some sort of then current day technology, be it a pager or brick sized phone. GTA V will apparently be set around 2012 making it the most modern GTA excluding semi-futuristic GTA 2. A smart phone or iPad-like device would really give the feel of an improved modern day game. How many times have you stayed in your vehicle and gone around the block a few more times just to listen to the rest of a great song, (Vice City had many I did this for). A music-playing device with which you continue listening to your tunes on while walking or pushing people over respectively. Each GTA has put a further emphasis on the technology of the setting and era so hopefully Los Santos has the accurate reflection on its real life counterpart regarding up to date tech.
