6. Assassin's Creed IV:Black Flag
Probably the game that I'd personally been the most excited about playing this year, Black Flag carries all the elements of the previous AC games-the stealthy assassinations, the satifying multiplayer options-and brings it to the boil in an explosion of colour and vibrancy which was missing in its slightly flat predecessor. The underwater sections are tough to master and took up a lot of my time, but they're hugely enjoyable and add a welcoming dose of grit and claustrophobia. The expanded worlds make this a game that you can truly lose yourself in for hours at a time and the sea battles look and feel spectacular. As If this wasn't enough, the main character is basically a murderous pirate. You don't get this on GTA.
