GTA V: 10 Repeated Rockstar Errors It Must Avoid

2. €˜If It Ain€™t Broke, Don€™t Fix It' Since I heard the announcements for GTA V, I have thought that this could be make or break for the Grand Theft Auto franchise, and I am still of that opinion. The GTA formula was successful in the PS2 era, making it incredibly popular, and rating the three main instalments up there amongst the best. Then came GTA IV, and for whatever reason, Rockstar decided to change things, to make them more serious and gritty, with morals and backstories that were more suited to some intense drama, than the previous slapstick antics. For me, they had it right before, with a good blend of serious and silly, to make the game enjoyable, but with enough emotion for us to empathise and relate with the characters. Now, back to GTA V, and we have more changes away from the successful formula, and whilst I€™m not going to write it off just yet, it could end up being agony or ecstasy. Multiple protagonists and a unique musical score are features that have split opinion, and could be the basis of a great game, or something of a flop. Thankfully, the ridiculously serious element seems to have disappeared this time around, with Rockstar going back to what made them successful in the first place.
