GTA V: 5 Reasons Why It's More Than Worth The Wait

2. The Open World

Just based the relatively small amount of information we have so far, there will be so, so much to do in GTA V that is nothing to do with the main story at all. Whether you enjoy exploring the environment, playing mini games and doing activities or making/spending money, this game will truly have it all. It has already been confirmed that each of the main three characters will have their own unique hobbies that they can participate in, such as yoga, golf or triathlons. Whilst these mini games are usually just for fun and add nothing of real value to the main story, the ability to do them and take your character away from the main story for a while has always been one of the most appealing aspects of any recent Grand Theft Auto game and GTA V will expand that even further. Personally, I would really like to see the drug dealing mini game, that was first introduced in GTA: Chinatown Wars, in V. I believe it will be, considering Trevor's character and how appropriate it would be. I also believe that Rockstar will try and include as many of the mini games we knew and loved from the past, but only the realistic ones of course. As much as I would like to see the Ice Cream Truck missions return, I don't think they will. Either way, the sheer amount of things to do in V will keep the player occupied for many hours. The ability to fly planes also returns in V, which is something that was missing in GTA IV simply due to the world being too small. This speaks volumes as to how big Los Santos actually is. We've already seen military planes, so it will no doubt mean that when you achieve the elusive six star wanted level, they will be chasing you from the sky. There wasn't enough force from the police in IV when you did achieve that wanted level, so the inclusion of these kinds of planes makes me think that it will be a lot harder to escape this time around. Which, for the player, makes for a very entertaining afternoon of evading the police every now and then. There will also be more of a focus on money in GTA V, with a far more vibrant economy and a bigger feeling of accomplishment when you do get your hands on some cash. What you can actually do with the money at the moment is pure speculation of course, but I feel that Rockstar will have taken note of the criticisms in IV, particularly the lack of things to do with money once you had lots of it. There were only so many Burger Shot meals you could buy. But now, that will change for the better.
