GTA V: 5 Things We Love (And 5 Things We Hate)

4. Character Introductions

One of the most notable features introduced in GTA V is the inclusion of three main characters rather than the single protagonist audiences are used to from the previous titles. Michael, Franklin and Trevor all have very distinctive personalities and like to involve themselves in very different activities while the player's attention is focused elsewhere. As a result of this, the switch from one character to another is often heralded by a weird and humorous cut scene, including (but not limited to) Michael waking up from a bad dream and waving a gun around his bedroom, Franklin exiting a strip club steaming drunk, and Trevor regaining consciousness before violently vomiting into a park fountain whilst wearing nothing but his underwear. Trevor seems to be the fan favourite, which is no surprise when you consider the surreal nature of his scenes. It might not add much to the storyline, and it's not a huge contribution in terms of character development, but it fits right in with the brand of humour audiences have come to expect from the series.
