1. Torture The Terrorist
We've already touched upon the torture scene in Grand Theft Auto V, but felt that it deserved a slide of its own. In the days following the game's release, human rights groups such as Freedom from Torture and Amnesty International, along with various teachers' unions, were left
up in arms over the presence of a torture scene in 'V'. The scene, which sees the player, controlling Trevor, choose from a variety of instruments of which to use in torturing an alleged terrorist, has evoked fury. Gamers can rip the unarmed, captured terrorist's teeth out, hit him round the head with a wrench, electrocute and even water-board him in a bit to extract information for the corrupt "FIB" agency. Players must go through the torture scene in its entirety if they want to complete the game, and afterwards, Trevor, while driving the terrorist to the airport, lectures him on how torture is an effective method of exerting power. These somewhat disturbing scenes are by a country mile some of the most evil we've seen in a Grand Theft Auto video game, and it could be that Rockstar overstepped the mark a little by including them.
