3. Threes A Company

Showcased brilliantly in the gameplay trailer, this mission was used to gloat the seamlessness of jumping between protagonists. Given each character has such an integral role to play here we can only hope this is a model for more missions. We dont know where it comes in the game or the significance of the story, but this looks like a pretty important level. The gang are trying to kidnap a target from the IAA (CIA) headquarters, which in the GTA world of course involves helicopters, rappels and hidden snipers. Thats all pretty par for the course and once the game arrives Threes A Company will blend in with the rest of the missions. But in the pre-release hype it was essential. The previews of this mission put to rest any worries about the three protagonists and showed how integral to the game their interaction would be. Michael bursts in from a rappel, then we jump out to Franklin to snipe some of the officials, then it's back to Michael finishing off the bodyguards seamlessly. The title, riffing on GTA IVs Threes A Crowd, couldn't be more apt.
