Rockstar Games will this afternoon release the
first official gameplay video for their upcoming sandbox title Grand Theft Auto 5. The video will be first available through Rockstar Games channels, but the publishers have said nothing further as to what it specifically plans to show in the video. Up until this point, fans have been treated to a number of trailers, but not featuring actual gameplay footage. It is thought we could at last see how the "switching mechanism" between the three playable characters during free-roam works during the video, among a number of other issues. Fans might even get a first look at multiplayer action, which thus far Rockstar have been fairly secretive about. GTA V will be the largest Grand Theft Auto game ever released and is bigger than the worlds of Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto IV combined. Players will control three protagonists, Trevor, Franklin and Michael, through Los Santos, a city based on modern-day Los Angeles and Southern California. GTA V launches September 17 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The 360 version of the game will ship on two discs and will require an 8GB install. UPDATE: The gameplay video is now available below:
