1. Bad Sport
The single biggest mistake by Rockstar is the inclusion of the 'Bad Sport' mechanic. Coupled with the cops being too good as already mentioned in point 3, the 'Bad Sport' mechanic is basically a sure fire way to suck the fun out of the game. This addition needs to disappear in a in a big way, you only need to do a quick Google search to see how much this is peeving people beyond belief. GTA without being able blow up someone's car? No thanks. If you get given the 'Bad Sport' reputation, which can sometimes be completely by accident (chasing someone down and trying to shoot them through the windscreen can, at times, lead to hilariously spontaneous car explosions), then you get given a dunce hat to wear for a minimum of 2 real time days. Fine so far? Sure, it is quite hilarious seeing someone run about with a dunce hat on and is also a very effective way of singling somebody out. It is only when you then try and go to a game with your friends that you realise the real issue. The game will only pair you up in matches with other bad sports. So you have effectively been sent to the naughty step and been told you cannot play with your friends until you have learned your lesson - This includes all modes of play, so don't think you can crew up with friends in their Freemode worlds either. Your lesson of course being that murdering prostitutes/police/complete innocent strangers, mowing thousands of people down and crashing planes into buildings is fine, but there is no way you will get away with blowing up someone's custom car that you then have to then pay for via insurance and they get back free of charge. Oh no, you will not get away with that. We get that it is in GTA Online to discourage those mentioned in point 2, but it needs tinkering as it is not working correctly - The punishment does not fit the crime at all. It feels like we have been let out into the playground but the teacher has kept all the balls inside and told us not to run. Keep the dunce hat however, they are genius.
