GTA V Online: Finance & Felony - 10 Things You Need To Know

5. Blaine County Is Finally Getting Some Love

GTA V
Rockstar

Despite adding a massive area outside of Los Santos, Sandy Shores, Blaine County and the rest of the territories stretching along the Pacific Highway have seen little action in recent months. Since the Heists update graced us last year, most content situated in GTA's fictionalised California counterpart has mostly been situated in L.S., but that doesn't seem to be the case this time around, as players look to be heading towards the desert to expand their criminal hijinks.

As the trailer showed, C.E.Os and their fellow executives are seen making a quick getaway down the coastline, and later on a uniquely painted Cargo-Bob is seen stealing a large crate of contraband from what looks to be Sandy Shores airfield. The presence of enemy AI would seem to suggest that these are actual missions that players will embark on, rather than simple gang-attack style events in the open world, which would imply that F&F is aiming to strike a balance between the linear, high-octane action of Heists, and the more, inconsequential distractions of Executives and Other Criminals.

Regardless, seeing more of Trevor's adoptive stomping-grounds will be a welcome treat for players who are growing a tad restless of the sprawling urban landscape of L.S. How much of the DLC will take place outside of San Andreas' foremost city is unknown, but it's still good that we're seeing Rockstar adopt a diverse approach to this latest batch of content.

Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
