GTA V Review: 10 Things We Love

3. The Water

Gtawater Having gone into some detail about the mad-cap activities you can get up to on land, we haven't even touched on the expansive underwater experience waiting for you below the ocean waves. The underwater world was revealed to us in the mission "Daddy's Little Girl" when, after taking son Jimmy out for a bike ride at Vespucci Beach, Michael spots a yacht out in the distance. Jimmy tells him his daughter, Tracey, is on it shooting pornography. Enraged, Michael decides to head on out there and bring his daughter home. We then see him dive into the water head first, before the seabed complete with tiny fish, rocks, sand and seaweed greets us. It was one of many moments where I had to take a step back and say, "wow". Not only is diving underwater incredibly fun, but the graphics of the ocean are incredible. The water actually looks like water, not the stagnant, lifeless kind found in previous titles. From suburbia through to the sea, Rockstar's open-world universe is as realistic as it ever has been.
