GTA VI: 10 Reasons It Must Return To Vice City

6. The 80s Were A Great Time For The Mob

The mob were having a whale of the time in the 80s, with "Dapper Don" John Gotti flying high with the Gambino crime family, and mobsters being given fantastic monickers like Anthony "Gaspipe" Casso, and Luca "Extractor Fan" Luciano (ok, that last one was made up). The 80s mob inspired films like Goodfellas and Casino, and these suave, smart-talking Wiseguys just need to return. GTA V completely neglected the Italian Mafia, and in GTA IV the mob characters all seemed to be well past their sell-by date and ready for the nursing home. No one wants to see octogenarian has-been mobsters with comb-overs, we want to see them dressing sharply in suits with their full heads of jet-black hair gelled back. We want them hanging out in mob-owned clubs making menacing jokes and slurping spaghetti, and if you bump into a particularly bad-natured one, we want him to smash a whisky glass in our face then laugh about it. Also, why are GTA mobsters always the bad guys? They're pretty much the Nazis/zombies of GTA games, so Rockstar should freshen things up and have the protagonist interacting with some 'Mr Nice Guy' mobsters as well like. Seeing as the only nice (ish) gangsters always seem to be the fat ones, this character would have to be someone like Bobby Bacala from The Sopranos, or that fat guy from Analyze This who's always playing the same character in his movies.
