Think back on GTA III and the way it played - now come alllll the way back to GTA V... it's almost the same game, right? Aside from the refined animation and cover system, the way you tackle any given situation and the enemies within is nigh-on identical - that being shoot everything in sight. As was stated in the intro, Rockstar have put more work into making sure the completely unnecessary stock system works than refining the gameplay itself, with the newest addition to run n' gun gameplay being three VERY basic power-ups; slow-motion, a 'rage mode' and enhanced quick-turn driving. Instead of these by-the-numbers additions, it's your traversal options that need expanding, as well as melee combat that needs a total overhaul. Add in the ability to interact with the world, throw, dodge and counter punches with confidence (and a variety of animations) and the ability to throw anyone you come across in any direction. GTA is the world's most intricate sandbox, but you can't help but think the tools at your disposal to interact with every part of it are a bit lacking at the most baseline level. What did you not like about GTA V, or did it blow you away like the best of the others? Let us know in the comments!
