GTA VI: 8 Hot New Rumours You Need To Know
2. Sadly, It's Further Away Than We Thought
When Tim Neff’s resume seemingly leaked onto the internet, gamers everywhere held their collective breath at the prospect of one of the biggest releases of the next decade entering the realm of reality.
If Rockstar Games has indeed started work on Grand Theft Auto VI, to the point of casting mo-cap actors, the sequel could be on the fast-track to release.
Except we don't know for certain that the developer has even greenlit the game, since PCgamesN reached out to Neff about that resume and was told it's just a big, fat hoax.
Suddenly, GTA VI went from being virtually announced to mythical status overnight and, given that it's not as far along as everyone thought, there's every chance it could skip the current hardware generation entirely.
The studio refused to hold back the release of GTA V for the launch of the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One, debuting the game on last-generation systems before rolling out an enhanced edition on the latest machines.
Time may not be on Rockstar's side if it's planning on pulling the same stunt with the next entry in the series, as Sony is rumoured to be targeting a 2020 debut for the PS5.
