GTA VI: 9 Things That Must Happen In 2018

Thanks to next-gen remasters and near-constant updates to GTA Online, GTA V still feels as fresh as it ever was, so it's no wonder why Rockstar hasn't been eager to announce a follow up.

Despite being four years old, the sequel still regularly appears in top ten best selling games of the month lists, and continues to rake in millions upon millions of dollars thanks to microtransactions.

With that said, the game can't continue forever, and eventually Rockstar needs to announce their plans for a true next-gen instalment in the long-running franchise.

While it might not seem likely that any new information would be coming soon, as the developers have their hands full gearing up to release Red Dead Redemption 2 early next year, a GTA-related announcement in 2018 isn't out of the question.

Considering how long fans have waited between instalments, a reveal of the sixth game has to be in the planning stages, and next year needs to be when Rockstar start playing their cards.

There's no chance that the game will actually come out in 2018, but there are certain things that need to happen sooner rather than later.

Although Take Two have ruled out implementing virtual reality in Red Dead Redemption 2, there's no reason why it won't become a big part of the next GTA game.

Rockstar have already established a solid foundation for VR gameplay by including a new first-person perspective in the remastered edition of V, so it makes sense that the next step would be making it fully compatible with virtual reality headsets.

GTA VI is going to be the first release in the series to hit the current generation of consoles, so what better way could the devs go about marking the sequel out as a unique experience than to use technology that wasn't available during the production of the previous games?
