Halo Infinite: 5 Forgotten Covenant Vehicles That Need To Return

3. Prowler

The Brute Prowler was introduced in Halo 3 as a cruder, more primitive alternative to the Spectre, more befitting of the Brute’s general aesthetic. Like most of the Brute arsenal, it has failed to appear in games since, showing up only occasionally in the expanded universe.

As befitting of a replacement for the Spectre, it fills the same niche as a multi-role infantry support vehicle. Whilst aesthetically very different, the Prowler is similar to its predecessor in many ways; like the Spectre it possesses a jump seat on either side of the vehicle and a rapid-fire plasma cannon for defence.

Compared to the Spectre, the driver and gunner stations are swapped, giving the driver more protection from the front but far more vulnerability to attack from the sides. The gunner gains a greater field of view, but are likewise somewhat more exposed, despite the heavier armor of the Prowler compared to the Spectre.

Its disappearance from the games is credited to the dissolution of the Covenant Empire, and the few Brute warlords who hold them being too busy fighting each other to fight the UNSC. Whilst it’s nice to see the UNSC getting cut some slack for once, it does mean it’s unlikely this vehicle will reappear anytime soon.
