Halo Infinite: 5 Forgotten Covenant Vehicles That Need To Return
1. Spectre
The Spectre is one of the oldest Covenant vehicles in the Halo franchise, initially designed for Halo: Combat Evolved. Though it was cut before release, it returned for the sequel, appearing in game for the first (and only) time.
A sleek vehicle with crimson armor, the Spectre fills a niche for the Covenant between the Wraith and the Ghost, serving as a counterpart to the iconic UNSC Warthog. The Spectre is fast and manoeuvrable, possessing powerful anti-gravity boosters that allow it to move rapidly in any direction. In addition to the driver up front and the gunner in the back, the Spectre possesses two jump seats, one on either side of the vehicle, allowing it to be used as a transport for small teams of infantry.
The Spectre was widely used by the Covenant throughout the Human-Covenant War, to rapidly deploy troops into conflict zones and provide fire support with its rapid-fire plasma cannon. After the Great Schism, the Brutes sidelined the Spectre in favor of a similar vehicle of their own design, the Brute Prowler, and many Spectres fell into the hands of pirates, rebels, and private collectors as the Covenant Empire crumbled.
Despite appearing regularly in the extended Halo universe, the Spectre has yet to appear in game outside of Halo 2.
