Hands-On With Every Major Upcoming Video Game - Ranked
3. Spyro Reignited Trilogy
There was a time the 3D platformer was proclaimed dead, and after the half-baked Yooka-Laylee, it certainly felt that way.
Then Crash Bandicoot's N. Sane Trilogy happened, and Spyro's Reignited Trilogy is set to be one hell of a followup.
Taking the 90s original PS1 games and giving them one HELL of a lick of paint, 2018 Spyro looks absolutely beautiful, and plays just like you remember. Where Crash's remakes suffered from Vicarious Visions refining the level's hitboxes to the point where your childhood muscle memory betrayed you, Spyro's jumps, charges and fire breath all feel spot on.
Set to package all three games into one glorious rush of nostalgia, it feels like developers Toys For Bob have knocked this out the park.
